ifilm has set to premiere ‘The Enigma of the Shah’ series, a brand new narrative on Iran’s contemporary history.
Directed by Mohammad-Reza Varzi, the first offering for the new 95-episode period drama will hit the air on Friday November 8 at 21:00 GMT. Each episode will repeat the next day at 02:00, 06:00 and 13:00 all GMT times.
'The Enigma of the Shah' recounts Iran’s contemporary history, beginning with the rule of Reza Shah Pahlavi and ending with the Islamic Revolution of Iran which brought down the Pahlavi Dynasty.
In 1979, the Iranian nation rose up to bring an end to the dictatorship of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi. Led by a charismatic leader named Ayatollah Khomeini, Iranians finally succeeded in changing the country’s system to an Islamic Republic.
Notable among the cast members of the show are Hessam Navvab-Safavi, Ali Dehkordi, Rahim Norouzi, Arsalan Qasemi, Mehraveh Sharifinia, Hadis Fouladvand, Mohammad-Reza Sharifinia, Gohar Kheirandish, Siavash Tahmoures and Sorayya Qasemi.
The new show will be replacing ‘The Color of Suspicion’ directed by Fariborz Arabnia.
